I have fan of the Boston Bruins for as long as I can remember. When I was very young, my Grandfather, who didn’t speak much English, and I bonded watching Bruins games together. My father and I have watched more Bruins games together then anyone could possibly count. Including those games when my mother made me go to bed at my normal bedtime, only to have my Dad wake me up a couple hours later to catch the third period of a big playoff game. There are countless photos of me in Bruins gear and many years of my parents putting up with me being a hockey player for Halloween year after year. Following and Believing in the Bruins has always been a family business that I have passed on (or burdened?) other friends and now my dear girlfriend with. I live and die with every game, be it regular season or post-season. I have seen it all as a fan. I was there, in the Garden watching those last place teams, lived through the Joe Thornton years, and now I am enjoying Chara years. After every season, for better or for worse, I will support and Believe in this team and will make my yearly pilgrimage to training camp out in Wilmington. And every year I leave training camp with the same thought I have every year. “I have a good feeling about this team….a very good feeling. I Believe they can win it all this year.”
I hope you enjoy the blog and I appreciate all feedback. Email me at thebruinsbeliever@gmail.com or better yet, tweet me @BruinsBeliever.
